If you vote in a state or district that is either “”safely” solid RED or BLUE (if you are not sure why it is designated as such, click on your state from the list to the right and then come back), your added vote in the mid-term election is effectively worthless – because no matter how you vote, the outcome is very unlikely to change.

But what that does mean is that you have an opportunity to send a powerful message to Democrats – and to the country – by voting for a third party candidate, especially one who stands for things like:

  • abolition of nuclear weapons
  • equitable and speedy transition to fossil-free, safe and clean energy
  • ending arms sales to Israel
  • negotiations to end the wars in Iran and Ukraine
  • many other progressive positions!

And most importantly, you also have the opportunity to help stop Trump in his tracks, by swapping your vote with someone in a contested “purple” state or district who would otherwise vote for a third-party candidate even if that means a Republican winning that seat.

If you vote for their third-party candidate in your state or district, in exchange for them voting for the Democrat in their state or district, third parties still get an additional vote overall AND we put an end to MAGA control of Congress.
