North Carolina

North Carolina is a PURPLE state. Trump won this state with relatively small margins in 2016, 2020 and 2024. The Senate race is also categorized as PURPLE, and is one of the key states that Democrats must win to retake control of the Senate.

House Districts in North Carolina are solidly RED, apart from NC-2, NC-4, NC-6 and NC-12, which are solidly BLUE. To play it safe, however, and ensure a Democrat wins in NC-1, this is categorized as a PURPLE seat.

In Purple races, every vote for the Democrat matters! If you are uncomfortable voting for a Democrat or plan to vote for a third party, please consider swapping your vote with someone in a safe state where their vote for a Democrat will not change the outcome.

STRATEGIC VOTING RECOMMENDATION:

Vote Democrat to end MAGA control of the Senate and swap your vote with someone in a red or blue state if you want them to vote for a third party of your choice or deliver a “protest” vote on your behalf.
