In 2024, the Republican, Greg Murphy, won this seat with a margin of 54.8 percent, or 175,711 votes, over the Libertarian, Gheorghe Cormos. An estimated 243,844 eligible voters (43.2%) did not vote at that election in North Carolina District 3, and – voted for a third (or fourth) party.
