This is a BLUE state that has traditionally voted Democratic in Presidential elections. It is solid BLUE when it comes to the Senate election. Most House Districts in Northern Virginia are solid BLUE, while much of southern and western Virginia is solid RED.
VA-2 is one of the key PURPLE House seats that Democrats must win to retake control of the House. And to play safe, VA-7 and VA-10 are categorized PURPLE to ensure Democrats retain these seats.
