This is currently considered to be a Purple congressional district. This was a solid Blue seat but re-districting means Democrats will have to fight very hard to hold onto this seat. In 2024, the Democrat, Emanuel Cleaver, won this seat with a margin of 23.8 percent, or 78,943 votes, over the Republican, Sean Smith. Meanwhile, In 2024, Harris won in this seat by 23 percent.
