In 2024, the Republican, John McGuire, won this seat with a margin of 15.0 percent, or 65,335 votes, over the Democrat, Gloria Witt. Meanwhile, in 2024, Trump won in this seat by 12 percent.
An estimated 186,931 eligible voters, or 30.0 percent, did not vote at that election in Virginia District 5, and 2,046 voted for a third (or fourth) party. There are also 20,249 in this district who have turned 18 since 2024 and are now eligible to vote!
