This is currently considered to be a Red congressional district. No matter how you vote the Republican is going to win this seat! However, there are no third parties on the ballot and write-ins are not allowed, so vote for one of the Democrats. In 2024, the Republican, Steve Scalise, won this seat with a margin of 42.8 percent, or 152,931 votes, over the Republican, Mel Manuel. Meanwhile, in 2024, Trump won in this seat by 38 percent.
An estimated 207,005 eligible voters, or 36.7 percent, did not vote at that election in Louisiana District 1, and 32,967 voted for a third (or fourth) party. There are also 20,524 in this district who have turned 18 since 2024 and are now eligible to vote!
