In 2024, the Republican, Doug LaMalfa, won this seat with a margin of 30.7 percent, or 97,956 votes, over the Democrat, Rose Penelope Yee. An estimated 233,107 eligible voters (42.2%) did not vote at that election in California District 1, and – voted for a third (or fourth) party.
