This is currently considered to be a Purple congressional district. This is one of the seats that Democrats can take from Republicans because of redistricting – to offset seats they will lose in Texas because of redistricting there. Please vote Democrat to end MAGA control of Congress!. In 2024, the Republican, Doug LaMalfa, won this seat with a margin of 30.7 percent, or 97,956 votes, over the Democrat, Rose Penelope Yee. Meanwhile, in 2024, Trump won in this seat by 25 percent.
An estimated 233,107 eligible voters, or 42.2 percent, did not vote at that election in California District 1, and – voted for a third (or fourth) party. There are also 21,450 in this district who have turned 18 since 2024 and are now eligible to vote!
