In 2024, the Democrat, George Whitesides, won this seat with a margin of 2.7 percent, or 7,990 votes, over the Republican, Mike Garcia. An estimated 198,415 eligible voters (39.8%) did not vote at that election in California District 27, and – voted for a third (or fourth) party.
