In 2024, the Democrat, Frank Mrvan, won this seat with a margin of 8.5 percent, or 27,411 votes, over the Republican, Randy Niemeyer. An estimated 243,192 eligible voters (43%) did not vote at that election in Indiana District 1, and 5,200 voted for a third (or fourth) party.
