This is currently considered to be a purple congressional district. This is a critical seat that Democrats must hold onto in order to regain control of the House. In 2024, the Democrat, Cleo Fields, won this seat with a margin of 13.0 percent, or 38,586 votes, over the Republican, Elbert Guillory. Meanwhile, In 2024, Harris won in this seat by 15 percent.
