In 2024, the Democrat, Glenn Ivey, won this seat with a margin of 77.2 percent, or 209,142 votes, over the Republican, George McDermott. An estimated 199,840 eligible voters (42.4%) did not vote at that election in Maryland District 4, and 920 voted for a third (or fourth) party.
