In 2024, the Democrat, Hillary Scholten, won this seat with a margin of 9.9 percent, or 41,558 votes, over the Republican, Paul Hudson. An estimated 145,916 eligible voters (25.8%) did not vote at that election in Michigan District 3, and 10,827 voted for a third (or fourth) party.
