This is currently considered to be a Purple congressional district. This is one of the critical seats that Democrats must win to regain control of the House. Meanwhile, in 2024, Trump won in this seat by 10 percent.
An estimated 176,415 eligible voters, or 30.1 percent, did not vote at that election in New York District 1, and 275 voted for a third (or fourth) party. There are also 19,706 in this district who have turned 18 since 2024 and are now eligible to vote!
