This is currently considered to be a Purple congressional district. This is one of the critical seats that Democrats must win back to regain control of the House. Meanwhile, In 2024, Harris won in this seat by just 1 percent.
An estimated 153,602 eligible voters, or 28.8 percent, did not vote at that election in New York District 17, and 7,764 voted for a third (or fourth) party. There are also 17,912 in this district who have turned 18 since 2024 and are now eligible to vote!
