This has been considered to be a Red congressional district. In 2024, the Republican, Elise Stefanik, won this seat with a margin of 24.0 percent, or 83,549 votes, over the Democrat, Paula Collins. And Trump won in this seat by 21 percent. However, the Democratic candidate, Blake Gendebien, is leading the Republican, Anthony Constantino, in the polls, so this is now a Purple race and vote swappers are urged to vote Democrat.
An estimated 260,090 eligible voters, or 42.7 percent, did not vote at that election in New York District 21, and 197 voted for a third (or fourth) party. There are also 20,453 in this district who have turned 18 since 2024 and are now eligible to vote!
