In 2024, the Democrat, Laura Gillen, won this seat with a margin of 2.3 percent, or 8,603 votes, over the Republican, Anthony D’Esposito. An estimated 175,282 eligible voters (31.8%) did not vote at that election in New York District 4, and 601 voted for a third (or fourth) party.
