In 2024, the Democrat, Janelle Bynum, won this seat with a margin of 2.7 percent, or 10,945 votes, over the Republican, Lori Chavez-DeRemer. An estimated 138,517 eligible voters (25.7%) did not vote at that election in Oregon District 5, and 29,508 voted for a third (or fourth) party.
