In 2024, the Democrat, Jim Clyburn, won this seat with a margin of 22.8 percent, or 69,696 votes, over the Republican, Duke Buckner. An estimated 262,193 eligible voters (46.1%) did not vote at that election in South Carolina District 6, and 11,561 voted for a third (or fourth) party.
