In 2024, the Democrat, Vicente Gonzalez, won this seat with a margin of 2.6 percent, or 5,177 votes, over the Republican, Mayra Flores. An estimated 233,282 eligible voters (53.8%) did not vote at that election in Texas District 34, and – voted for a third (or fourth) party.
