New Mexico

This is now a LIGHT BLUE state! It has traditionally voted Democratic in Presidential elections, but the gap is very narrow and opinion polls show that Trump could potentially win New Mexico in 2024.

Presidential Election – Nov 5th, 2024

In New Mexico, it is fairly safe to vote for a third-party candidate in the general election, without fear that this will help get Trump back into the White House. He will almost certainly lose this state. And if he wins New Mexico, it’s probably all over for Harris anyway.

So If you want your vote to count as a vote to survive, vote for Jill Stein on November 5th! Jill stands for a ceasefire in Gaza, negotiations in Ukraine, an end to warmongering with China, the abolition of nuclear weapons and a full-scale mobilization to address the climate emergency.

Vote Swapping

And if you want to help ensure that Trump does not get back into the White House, you can encourage someone in a purple state to vote for Harris by swapping your vote with them and agreeing to vote for their preferred third-party candidate in New Mexico. If you’d like to know more, click here.

As someone voting in a MARGINAL STATE, however, you may want to vote for Harris to make sure that Trump doesn’t actually win this state. In that case, you have the choice of swapping your vote with someone in a more solid red or blue state, where a vote for Jill Stein in that state can help send a message to Kamala Harris that you want more urgent and serious attention given to the existential threats facing humanity and that she does not have a blank check to continue with business as usual.

In that case, you can choose to swap your vote as if you are voting in a PURPLE state, and swapping with someone in a RED or BLUE state. The choice is yours:

Senate Race

This is Democrat-held Senate seat and the Republicans are unlikely to take it. Nevertheless, to keep this seat blue, vote to re-elect Martin Heinrich.

A vote for Martin Heinrich is a vote for survival!

House Races

The best we can hope for in 2024 at the Presidential and Senate levels is to prevent Donald Trump and the Republicans from re-taking control so that we will at least survive the next four years. But in the medium term, we need to elect politicians who support the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, the Nuclear Ban Treaty and other real, sustainable solutions to the global threats facing us all.

Luckily, we already have over 100 such politicians in the House of Representatives. We need to make sure they get re-elected, and we need to elect more of them!

If you live in US Congressional District 1, you have an opportunity at this election to vote for a new progressive candidate for the House of Representatives, Teresa Fernandez!

New Mexico District 1 – Teresa Fernandez for US Congress

Teresa Fernandez supports the fight for reproductive rights, a Green New Deal, a humane and comprehensive immigration policy, gun safety laws and education for all.
