Kamala Harris is disturbingly complicit with genocide in Gaza and is beholden to the same special interests that are fuelling the climate crisis and endless wars. But letting Trump win this election would be a disaster, not only for this country, but for the world. And he is no friend of Palestinians or of Muslims.
No matter who is the next President, we are going to have to keep fighting for the changes we want to see. But if you really want to have any chance of influencing the policies of the next administration, you want Kamala Harris in the White House, because you will have zero leverage with a Trump presidency. If Harris wins this election by a just a handful of votes in Wisconsin and a few other purple states, she will actually owe it to those voters who were willing to “swap” their vote to get her elected. That’s leverage power!
Vote-swapping simply means being willing to vote for Harris in Wisconsin, in exchange for someone in a red or blue state voting for the third party candidate of your choice. There is no guarantee that they will do this, but if it is someone you trust, it is worth a shot.
Voting for a third party candidate in Wisconsin is not going to make it any more likely that they win the election. Senate Race
Democratic incumbent Tammy Baldwin is up for re-election, facing a tough race against Republican Eric Hovde. This is a must win seat for Democrats to retain control of the Senate, so a vote for Tammy Baldwin is a vote to survive!
House Races
The best we can hope for in 2024 at the Presidential and Senate levels is to prevent Donald Trump and Republicans from re-taking control so that we will at least survive the next four years. But in the medium term, we need to elect politicians who support the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, the Nuclear Ban Treaty and other real, sustainable solutions to the global threats facing us all.
Luckily, we already have over 100 such politicians in the House of Representatives. We need to make sure they get re-elected, and we need to elect more of them!
