VoteSwap24 – Marginal States

You have clicked on a state that is either a “marginal” LIGHT RED state or a “marginal” LIGHT BLUE state (if you are not sure why it is designated as such, click on your state from the list to the right and then come back).

That means you have a choice: no matter how you vote, your state is almost certain to vote for Trump or Harris respectively. So you can safely vote for a third party and choose to swap your vote with someone in a PURPLE state where it is more likely to make a difference. In that case, you are choosing to swap your vote as if you lived in a solid RED or BLUE state.

Yes, count me as RED/BLUE! I want to swap my vote with someone in a PURPLE state who will vote for Harris if I vote for their choice of candidate.

BUT you can alternatively play it safe and add your vote to Kamala Harris to give her more votes (in a marginal blue state) or more of a chance at winning (in a marginal red state). In that case, you could choose to swap your vote with someone in a solid RED or BLUE state if you want to send a powerful message to Harris – and to the country – by adding a vote in that other state for a third party candidate, such as Jill Stein, who stands for things like:

  • abolition of nuclear weapons
  • equitable transition to fossil-free, clean energy
  • ceasefire in Gaza
  • negotiations to end the war in Ukraine
  • many other progressive positions!

In that case, you are choosing to swap your vote as if you live in a PURPLE state, where you must vote for Harris to keep Trump from winning.

Yes, count me as PURPLE! I want to swap my vote with someone in a RED or BLUE state who is willing to vote for a Third Party on my behalf.

In either case, you have the opportunity to help prevent Trump from getting elected, by swapping your vote with someone in another state. We don’t want to give Kamala Harris a blank check to just continue the same old policies as before. But we absolutely don’t want to face the disaster of another 4 years of Donald Trump.
